Traveling with Food Allergies - Spotlight on Mexico

Travel is my family’s passion. But when our youngest had an anaphylactic episode in Istanbul, Turkey, at only 18 months old, we almost lost our gumption to continue our family pastime. This cherished family ritual was threatened. Eager to not succumb to the limitations fear imposes, I got back on that proverbial horse, traveling first within the safety of traditional food allergy friendly destinations, and then expanding our reach to include a variety of international travel. This entry shares how we planned for and enjoyed an amazing trip through Mexico, covering its often traveled beautiful beaches and metropolitan cities and some of its less visited charming mountainside villages. Living empowered with food allergies requires motivation, creativity, and effort to constantly expand horizons and experiences. Push back fear and join me by clicking through to read about our experience with hopes that it may inspire you to do the same!
